Round Zero Season 2 Episode 10 – The End Of The Beginning: Cormier vs Miocic

Sabina Mazo vs Shana Dobson

Sweet MBA: Dobson has not been performing. While Mazo has been great in LFA with savage head kick ends, she loses decisions in the UFC. Probably Mazo
Brane Damage: Mazo 6-1 2 KO’s (back to back Headkicks in 2017) coming off her first career loss in her UFC debut looks to bounce back. Dobson 3-2 also lost her UFC debut in her last outing. Mazo by TKO
Hannah Cifers vs Jodie Esquibel
Sweet MBA: Cifers is on a climb.Interesting enough her name is Shock Wave and Shockwave lost to A Train. Equibel took an L to Angela Hill which tells me she doesn’t have the striking nor the take downs. Cifers by decision.
Brane Damage: Cifers 9-3 with 5 KO’s 1-1 in the UFC. Esquibel 6-5, 0-3 in UFC will be fighting to avoid that pink slip. Cifers by TKO.
Manny Bermudez vs Casey Kenney
Sweet MBA: Kenney is coming off a decision against Borg which is still pretty controversial in my book. Bermudez has not shown enough. I suspect Kenney by decision
Brane Damage: Bermudez is Undefeated 14-0 with 11 Subs, 3-0 in UFC all finishes. Finished his last 6 opponents by Submission. Kenny 12-1-1, 6 Finishes won his UFC debut after going 1-1 on DWTNCS & having to string together 4 straight in LFA to get his shot in the big leagues. Bermudez by Sub.
Christos Giagos vs Drakkar Klose
Sweet MBA: The battle of Arizona. Very interesting. Pretty sure Klose’s experience out does Giagos surge. Klose by ground and pound TKO
Brane Damage: Klose 10-1-1, 4 KO’s, is 4-1 in UFC. Giagos 17-7, 10 Finishes is on his second stint in UFC with a 4-3 combined record. Klose by Decision.
Raphael Assuncao vs Cory Sandhagen
Sweet MBA: Sandhagen is ignorantly good and wins by submission.
Brane Damage: Sandhagen 11-1 with 7 Finishes on a 6 win streak 4 in UFC & only his last fight went to Decision. Assuncao 27-6 with 14 Finishes, lost his last outing after a 4 win streak. Assuncao by Decision.

Devonte Smith vs Clay Collard
Sweet MBA: Smith vs Collard Smith 10-1 with 9 KO’s has won 6 straight all finishes & 5 straight Knockouts. Looking to extend his UFC record to 3-0 he will have to adjust to a new opponent on short notice.
Brane Damage:  Collard 17-8 with 10 KO’s replaces Makdessi on short notice for his second shot at the big time going 1-3 in n his first UFC stint 4 years ago. Smith by KO.
Derek Brunson vs Ian Heinsich
Sweet MBA: Brunson reviewing his second fight at Hard Knocks. With a shattered Rockhold, Brunson can be the premier 185 at the camp. If he follows the script, he wins by decision.
Brane Damage: Brunson 19-7 with 14 Finishes 10-5 in UFC has seen his ups & downs won his last bout after getting KO’d twice in a row following his own 2 fight KO winning streak. If he doesn’t stick to his wrestling roots he could be back on the schnide. Heinisch 13-1 with 6 Finishes is on a 5 fight tear. Ian has won his 2 UFC bouts against very tough competition. If he can get through Brunson as well he could be in for a top 5 opponent next. Heinisch by TKO.
Gabriel Benitez vs Sodiq Yusuff
Sweet MBA: The Nigerian train continues to steam. Yusuff by decision.
Brane Damage:  Benitez 21-6 with 17 Finishes is 5-2 in the UFC on a 2 fight win streak. Yusuff 9-1 wth 5 KO’s is 2-0 in UFC on a 4 fight win streak looking to make a name for himself. Benitez by Sub.
Yoel Romero vs Paulo Costa
Sweet MBA: I have been waiting for this fight for oh so long. It doesn’t bode well for the winner of Whitaker Adesanya. If Costa and his roids survives Romero, then he is a problem. We already know Romero is just an issue and 27 Mill. Romero by KO.
Brane Damage:  Romeo 13-3 with 11 KO’s the newly multi millionaire is looking to stop Paulo’s hype train & get himself right back into the title picture after 2 razor close loses to Champ Whittaker. Costa Undefeated at 12-0 All Finishes with 11 KO’s. If Paulo can pull off the upset he might be on a fast track to title connection himself. Romeo by TKO.
Anthony Pettis vs Nate Diaz
Sweet MBA: We have not seen Diaz in so long. I cannot call it. I love my brother’s boxing, his cardio and his jiu jitsu is incredible. Pettis brings kicks, transitions and explosive attacks from mid range. This is such a good match up. Diaz by submission.
Brane Damage:  Diaz 19-11 with 16 Finishes 11 Submissions is finally back after a 3 year layoff almost to the date. Will the cage rust affect Nate? Pettis 22-8 wth 18 Finishes 11 KO’s is coming off his best performance in 6 years with a KO win over Wonderboy in his Welterweight debut. These two have legit dislike for each other as the Diaz brothers & Pettis brothers have had verbal spats in backstage confrontations in the past. Unfortunately I think the layoff will be a factor here. Pettis by Decision.
Daniel Cormier vs Stipe Miocic
Sweet MBA: DC once again.
Brane Damage:  Cormier 22-1-1 No Contest with 15 Finishes 10 KO’s including 1 over his current challenger. DC has finished his last 3 fights. Miocic 18-3 wth 14 KO’s. Stipe is looking to bounce back from his last fight where DC took the title from him. He holds the Record for 3 Title Defenses in the Heavyweight Division. Cormier has said in the past that he would put a hard stop on his career at 40 years old. Could this be his last fight win lose or draw? We shall see as his coach Javier Mendez has stated he has 2-3 years left in him. Cormier by Decision.
